Chief Engineer(Rota) - M/Y Amels, Commercial
Apply before 30/Oct/2026
We are looking for an experienced Chief Engineer to join a yacht on a 1:1 rotational schedule, starting in December 2026.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of yachting experience and proven experience as a Chief Engineer on large private or commercial yachts. AMELS experience would be highly advantageous.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys taking an active role in the technical operation, maintenance and future planning of the vessel.

Responsibilities include the safe, reliable and efficient operation of all engineering systems, preventative maintenance, fault finding and troubleshooting, as well as stock control, inventory management and ordering of technical spares.
The role also includes refit planning and preparation, including budgeting, scheduling and project coordination. Strong communication with the Captain and wider crew is essential.
The successful candidate should have excellent technical knowledge and a genuinely hands-on approach, along with experience in refits, shipyard periods and technical project management. Strong organisational and stock-control skills are required, as well as confidence when dealing with shipyards, manufacturers and suppliers.
Familiarity with IDEA and planned maintenance systems is essential. The ideal candidate will be professional, proactive, solutions-focused and able to work effectively within a small engineering team.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced hands-on Chief Engineer who wants to take real ownership of the vessel, from daily engineering operations through to stock management, refit planning and relationships with shipyards and manufacturers.
Single cabin provided.
Essential qualifications include ENG 1 Medical Certificate, a valid Driver's Licence and STCW 95 / STCW 2010.
Minimum qualification required: RIII/3 Y3 Chief Engineer (<500 GT, <3000 kW) or Chief Engineer (SV) (<500 GT, 3000 kW).
