Chief Engineer (Rota) - M/Y 50+m
Apply before 5/March/2026
We are currently representing a 57m motor yacht that is on the market and seeking a Chief Engineer to join on or before 10th March. As the vessel is for sale, the future program remains uncertain; the outcome could present an excellent long-term opportunity, though this will ultimately depend on the sale.
The salary offered is $10,500 per month, which is non-negotiable at this stage, together with a 13th month bonus and a share of charter tips should charter activity take place. The minimum certification required is III/3 Chief Engineer <3000kW. The engineering department is well established and currently consists of a Chief Engineer, Second Engineer, and a temporary Third Engineer during yard periods.
The vessel, built prior to 2010, is in good condition and operates under two highly regarded Captains. Accommodation is a single cabin. The rotation is 2:2; however, the first rotation will be three months on board, followed by six weeks off and six weeks on, before moving to an 8:8 rotation thereafter. The yacht is operating as normal, with the possibility of future charters if she is not sold in the near term.
The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing AVIT and electrical systems, so proven experience in these areas is advantageous. An upcoming yard period for Intermediate Surveys is scheduled in Florida, offering an excellent opportunity to become familiar with the vessel. Strong Second Engineers looking to step up will be considered, provided they are fully competent in AVIT systems. The successful candidate must be confident communicating directly with guests and the owner regarding technical matters. A valid B1/B2 visa is essential for this position.
