2nd Officer (Rota) - M/Y 60+m - Private

We are seeking a skilled and motivated 2nd Officer to join a 62m world-cruising, private exploration-style yacht, starting in October. This is a rotational position on a 10:10 schedule, with one day of leave earned for each day worked, and offers a salary dependent on experience, alongside discretionary bonuses and medical cover in line with MLC standards. Candidates must hold at minimum an OOW license, though a Chief Mate 3000 ticket is preferred, and must have completed a Transas type-specific ECDIS course. The successful candidate will bring true waterman qualities, ideally with experience in activities such as spearfishing and freediving, and those with prior time on exploration or support yachts will be highly regarded. The role is split between deck and bridge duties, approximately 40:60 in port and 80:20 during guest trips, and requires overseeing a team consisting of three deckhands and a bosun, working in close collaboration with the Chief Officer. Strong tender-driving skills are essential, along with proven experience as a navigational watchkeeper and an in-depth understanding of safety and emergency protocols. You should be confident working independently, supporting the Chief Officer with drills, safety inspections, crew training, and maintaining the highest standards of documentation, communication, and situational awareness. Leadership, a proactive mindset, and a willingness to be hands-on are key attributes for success in this position. This opportunity is ideally suited to a 2nd Officer seeking to join an excellent program with supportive management, fantastic owners, adventurous cruising destinations, and a healthy work-life balance both onboard and ashore.
